Finding Joy and community

Our Story

We are a nurse physician dyad with proven leadership expertise in quality improvement and health equity. Our clinical experience provides us with a deep understanding of the complexities of the healthcare environment and how to affect change.

We support organizations and healthcare professionals to build more inclusive workplaces, find joy in their work, and improve patient experiences. Healthcare professionals are committed to the values of providing excellent care and deserve opportunities to learn skills to interrupt bias and promote human connection.

We believe in a world where health equity is a reality and central to the work we all do daily.

Brittany Dahlen, MSN, RN, CHSE, NPD-BC, CPN

I have a clinical background as a pediatric critical care nurse and now focus on supporting healthcare professionals in their growth and development. I am passionate about interrupting bias in the many facets of healthcare, from orientation of new hires, precepting, and charge nurse roles, to patient care, front desk interactions, and patient family experience.

I am a white, cisgender woman. I am working daily to unlearn the biases within me and around me to build a more equitable community.

I believe we all have biases to unpack and we can learn to interrupt biases in our daily life to make health equity a reality.

Samreen Vora, MD, MHAM, FACEP, CHSE

I am an emergency room doctor that has the privilege of interacting with people at their most vulnerable times. It is my duty to be responsible with this power and assure that I provide equitable care to all patients and families.

I am a Pakistani, Muslim, American woman. I am working every day to be deliberate in recognizing and interrupting my biases.

As healthcare professionals, we all have the good intent to help people, yet it is time to focus on our impact in order to make health equity a reality.
